Celebrating Over Three Decades of Reliable Flow Control
With over three decades of experience, Industrial Plastic Valves Company manufactures reliable industrial plastic solenoid valves for OEMs and manufacturers across North America.
Our Promise!
At Industrial Plastic Valves (IPV), family owned and operated for over 35 years, we deliver reliable, cost-effective flow control solutions for commercial manufacturers and OEMs regulating air, water, gases, and mild corrosive fluids. Because the wrong valve can stop your system - and your schedule - we focus on helping you get the right valve, right time.
We manufacture and distribute high-quality industrial solenoid valves designed for demanding applications. Our product line includes plastic, brass, and stainless steel bodied solenoid control valves ranging from 1/8 inch to 3 inches, with multiple voltage options, body styles, seal materials, and wiring configurations to meet your exact specifications.

Built on Experience and Accountability
Industrial Plastic Valves is led by CEO Tom Christian, who brings decades of hands-on leadership in manufacturing, operations, and service-driven industries. A lifelong resident of the Reno–Carson City area, Tom has built his career around one principle: systems must perform reliably under pressure — especially when customers are counting on them.
Before joining IPV, Tom spent 15 years with 3M Corporation as a Corporate Service Manager, where his department ranked among the top facilities in a national network of nearly 160 locations. That experience reinforced a culture of process discipline, accountability, and measurable customer impact — standards that now shape IPV’s manufacturing and quality control practices.
In 1991, Tom founded Premier Powder Coating, rapidly scaling operations through hands-on leadership and operational innovation. The company expanded across Northern Nevada and earned multiple industry recognitions, including the Governor’s Industrial Appreciation Award for Nevada Businesses.
Since becoming CEO of Industrial Plastic Valves in 2014, Tom has worked directly with engineers, OEMs, and purchasing agents who cannot afford valve failure, missed deadlines, or costly downtime. From large-scale water systems to specialty industrial applications, he understands what is at stake when a solenoid valve does not perform as specified.
That real-world experience drives IPV’s commitment to manufacturing reliable industrial plastic solenoid valves built to meet exact specifications. Every design decision, material selection, and inspection process reflects one priority: helping customers get the right valve, right time — so their systems stay operational and their projects are completed on schedule.
“When a valve fails, it’s never just a part — it’s people, systems, and operations affected. That responsibility drives how we build every valve.”
— Tom, CEO
Engineered for Performance!
The Industrial Plastic Valves product line includes thermoplastic, brass, and stainless steel solenoid valves engineered for precise control of water, oils, and other compatible media. Valves are designed for continuous-duty operation and built for reliable performance in industrial and OEM environments.
All IPV valves undergo rigorous development and performance testing to ensure they meet industrial control requirements. Prior to shipment, each valve is subjected to careful visual inspection and functional testing to verify quality, reliability, and readiness for installation.
Materials Chosen for Real-World Conditions
PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride)
Valve performance depends as much on material selection as it does on design. Media compatibility, temperature, pressure, and environmental exposure all affect long-term reliability. That’s why IPV offers multiple thermoplastic and elastomer options — allowing engineers to select materials that match their application instead of forcing a compromise.
Below is an overview of the materials commonly used across IPV valve designs.
Plastic Materials
PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride)
PVC is a widely used thermoplastic offering excellent resistance to aqueous solutions of acids, alkalis, salts, and oils. Its low cost, lightweight construction, and resistance to strong oxidizing agents make it well suited for industrial applications.
Maximum fluid temperature: +120°F
Noryl GTX (PPE / PA)
Noryl GTX is a strong, rigid thermoplastic blend with low water absorption and high heat resistance. It offers excellent chemical resistance to automotive fuels, greases, oils, detergents, alcohols, and alkaline chemicals.
Maximum fluid temperature: +300°F
Polypropylene provides superior solvent resistance compared to PVC and is one of the lightest and most widely used thermoplastics. Glass-filled polypropylene offers exceptional strength and durability in demanding environments.
Maximum fluid temperature: +180°F
Elastomers
Buna-N (Nitrile Rubber)
Buna-N offers excellent resistance to compression set, abrasion, and tearing. It is recommended for general-purpose sealing of water, silicone greases, petroleum oils, and fluids.
Temperature range: 20°F to +180°F
EPDM (Ethylene Propylene)
EPDM is resistant to many acids, alcohols, and oxidizing chemicals but is not recommended for petroleum-based fluids.
Temperature range: 20°F to +250°F
Viton (Fluoroelastomer)
Viton provides broad chemical compatibility and is well suited for acids, hydrocarbons, fuels, and cleaning solvents that may cause Buna-N to swell.
Temperature range: 10°F to +300°F
Founder Legacy
Industrial Plastic Valves was founded by Paul LaFleur, whose commitment to practical engineering and customer service established the foundation the company is built on today.
Paul believed that flow control solutions should be reliable, straightforward, and designed for real-world conditions — not overengineered or difficult to support. That philosophy guided IPV’s early growth and continues to shape how valves are designed, tested, and supported.
Today, IPV carries that legacy forward under the leadership of Tom Christian, combining the principles established by Paul LaFleur with decades of operational experience, modern manufacturing practices, and responsive customer support.
